None of us who posted were wild about the 1st class, newly commissioned, portrait.

SHOULD you want to see it, it's now on display at the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace, which open every summer.

£19/adult; £17.50/over 60s.

I went in years ago, and I will say the State Rooms are the sort of thing that's worth doing at that price (ONCE!).

I'm not sure why, but it somehow just doesn't appeal to me at all. Nothing to do with it not being engraved though, I'm not that single-minded!


And it's not the designer either, because I'm very fond of almost all other Dulac designs. His KGVI definitive portrait is a true classic. Maybe it's his full frontals which let him down, in my eyes anyway. Same goes for his QEII Coronation stamp, that's another one of his I don't like.

It's probably just me though...
