Is this one of the plainest stamps ever? As well as the design the colours are grey, white and black. plain stamps.jpeg

Any more examples?

Got to be close!

There's some Dutch defins that are just numerals, but at least the typography's quite funky and of its time. They're by Wim Crouwel, and were first released in 1972.

The 5c is probably the plainest, but honourable mentions, too, to 65c and 70c:

Never been terribly keen on this grey posthorn, either, though it looks all right in hot pink.

For plain, it's hard to go past the New Zealand emergency self-adhesive 5c provisional stamp, issued when the letter rate went up from 40c to 45c in 2004. If you didn't recognise the tiny NZ Post logo in the corner, you would be hard pressed to work out just where it was from.

Here is a link. Perhaps someone could show the actual stamp.

That's pretty plain jayemcee. I see from the link that the dealer is out of stock on that stamp so it must be a popular issue !!!

We just had this 1870 Alsace and Lorraine stamp up in the 'Guess the Stamp' thread when jayemcee said it should look good here in this thread too, which is true, so here it is:
