My two latest Béquet stamps date from 1981 and are part of the Tourist Publicity series.They depict St. John's Cathedral in Lyon

I like how he manages to convey the grand scale of these buildings.

The office was not in the right place! The 1974 Stamp Day issue for the Ivory Coast designed and engraved by Pierre Bequet. The "BUREAU DE DABOU" inscription was incorrect and was changed to "BUREAU DE GRAND-LAHOU". The original stamp is reportedly one of the modern rarities, only one sheet of 25 stamps known to exist. There are 500,000 of the others. img006.jpg
