While Gary Lineker was interviewing the first GB gold medal winners on TV just now, he actually showed them a large mock-up of their gold medal stamp! If that doesn't get folk interested!

We now have the pictures of the first two gold medal stamps which should be available from noon today.

It's understandable but a bit of a shame that there's only room on the stamps for the names of individual gold medal winners, with pairs and teams having to make do with 'Team GB'.

Let us know if you can get hold of sheets, single stamps, etc. where you are!

And here's a clip of the two women being presented with the first gold medal 'stamp'.

Stanning's granddad is a stamp collector! Hurray!

Such a great clip. Good to see the printing too.

Huge amounts of publicity for Royal Mail too.

Thanks Adrian for your own 'gold-medal' performance while I was in the handball arena.

Anytime!

Do I get to be on a stamp as well, then?

Probably not.

sad

Hadn't even watched the clip yet! Thought it was just the Lineker bit which I'd seen yesterday, but when you mentioned the printing I thought I'd better have a look! It's a great clip indeed! Lots of high profile national coverage! Can't be wrong.

One day, Adrian, one day!

Exactly. There is SO much coverage, I'm delighted.

Anyone been to the PO yet?

Here's our story, with links to the TV segment, where you can buy the stamps and links to the postboxes.

Looking at the MS etc I just bought (pics in a minute), you do not need the full A4 press sheet to get the printer imprint. The perfs run all the way across and the BOTTOM miniature sheet has a perfed selvedge that has the printer imprint on it. Mine says 'London' (unsurprisingly, as I bought them in Croydon). Please report others.

And another medal stamp coming! Peter Wilson just won the double trap shooting.
