About time too! I've been waiting for a classy GB issue for an absolute age.

I don't know whether it is the scan quality but I find these objects very 'bling-bling', very plastic looking. The sword is my favorite with the oak leaves and acorn detail on the hilt. I note the regal purple background, but the actual objects look like what a teenage prom queen would wear in some Kentucky high school. I don't loathe the design but I'm not impressed. By the way, the Scottish State jewels are much nicer looking and much older. I have seen both, in London and in Edinburgh, and I perfer the Scottish jewels by far. Classy, for sure, but not a classic in my humble opinion.

Want to bet RM read this and think 'Oooh, Scottish state jewels - there's an idea!'?

I rather like the design one of the better stamp issues for a very long time. But I do wish that the object in its entirety was shown and not just a close-up snippet. Why not show all the jewels on one mega-stamp too.

Good effort RM but try slightly harder next time.
