Hi!

I am not to sure what my collection comes under,  it is not restricted, only by  cost.

Anything generated by WW1 wether War Tax or Red Cross.

Could it be thematic? all idears/contributions gratefull received.

Well, it's really up to you!

Over and over, when I talk to people about collecting and what they enjoy about it, it's that you get to make your own decisions about what you do and don't collect.

At the moment, it sounds like it's a 'World War I issues' thematic.

If, say, it was limited to West Indian World War I issues, you could probably start calling it 'West Indies: 1914-1918' and it would become more of an 'ordinary' collection.

On this board, the section we call specialisms was for postal stationery, cinderellas, things like that. It's the best name we could come up with, but we know it's not ideal.

Clay ....

This is the sort of collection that when it covers a period in history such as this -- I tend to view as a social history collection. I have seen some of these in the past at various stamp societies and in almost every case give insight into various areas that us more standard collectors neglect either through trying to cover the finer points at the expence of the simple details or as has happened to me just a simple case of --- "Why didn't I think of that !!".

Its a great shame that more of these collections are not scanned and displayed on the web .. but time etc are not always on our side when we come to do this ...

All the best with the subject matter ... and would love to see some or all if you get chance to scan it
