I completely agree, Andrew! At least when Canada issued Start Trek Stamps, we can boast William Shatner and James Doohan... and Vulcan. Alberta! wink

It would appear that the Royal Mail is now issuing at least one set of stamps per month creating a glut of unwanted and unused philatelic material, just how many of these stamps will have to be destroyed due to being unsold ? They may even try selling them at a discount or doing a CTO batch for the trade to fill their coffers, after all, a sheet of 1st class commemorative stamps only costs a few pence to produce at the printers.

Not only are we getting junk mail these days but also junk stamps that will never get used !

In a few years time if you are still interested in adding them to your collection, you will be able to buy these same stamps at a discount anyway, so why purchase them now ! Fred

Good point Fred, a bit like our local Chapters bookstore where, in the past at least, if you waited long enough, the book that sold for $35.00-40.00 when it came out would find its way to the Cheapie Section - you have no idea how many great hardcover books I found there over the years that cost me 5-10.00 each, maybe.

All good things come to those who wait.
