Thread: Turkey 1876 20 Paras Black & Red / Rose - No Rose

Hi Mark

Would it be possible to put a scan of the stamp on the forum? It always helps to have a picture to look at.

The colours on scans aren't always the best but it would help other readers to try to help you identify the stamp.

Regards Billy

Thread: Any help with identification please! Reunion postage due?

Agree, it looks like a French postage due but the 60 centimes I found is listed as black!

Do you think the overprint of the R in the triangle is Reunion?

Thread: why this date

Any chance of putting am image of the cover on this post. From what you say I don't think this is a first day cover but a Commemorative cover. Good old Wikipedia does give the formation of the Marines as 28/101664, so this indicates 350 year anniversary. Not sure where the 25th comes in.

A very nice buy Alex. I have the same problem as Adrian, I hunt around our local charity shops but no luck.

Either we have very keen shoppers or perhaps the people who sort the donations have caught on to stamp collecting and have first pick

. I do keep looking and have managed to purchase a couple of catalogues at a reasonable price but no stamps yet.
