A limited edition of the intaglio facsimiles of the 1929 Postal Union Congress £1 stamp, printed on an old-style press at the Empire Mail exhibition in May, are about to go on sale.
These are the blocks of four printed on blue paper using Enschedé’s vintage hand-operated press which was demonstrated at the Guildhall Art Gallery, as distinct from those philatelically distributed at the time, which were printed on a modern press.
Only 50 blocks are being made available, at a cost of £50 each, from December 13.
UPDATE: The BPMA has said it will not take orders until 9am on December 13.
