No prizes, just a bit of fun! Can you guess which stamp is shown?

Moderator 1047 forum posts 434 photos 4 articles | Okay, thanks to popular demand, we here have the first in our long running quiz: Guess The Stamp! I'm afraid there's no prizes to be won, just eternal glory, but who wouldn't settle for that?! To get it right, you need to give me the following details: country of issue, year of issue and name of issue (or just 'definitive' if it's a definitive). You get the following points: Right in one go? 5 points! Need a bigger picture? 3 points! Need to know from which SG catalogue? 2 points! Need to know the country? 1 point. You get an extra point for guessing the right value as well, and if it's a surcharged or a semi-postal stamp, I'll need both original value and new value or added value for you to earn that bonus point.
Here's our first stamp. Edited By Adrian on 15/12/2012 14:35:14 Edited By Adrian on 15/12/2012 14:35:33 Edited By Adrian on 15/12/2012 15:25:40 Edited By Adrian on 15/12/2012 15:28:15 |

Moderator 1047 forum posts 434 photos 4 articles | I'm not making it too easy straightaway, but each day you'll get a better chance of winning, though you will end up with slightly less brownie points (see my newly devised point award scheme in the top message)! So here's a bigger picture with a bit more clues: |

Moderator 1047 forum posts 434 photos 4 articles | Why of course anyone can play. But I'd like a bit more info, such as year of issue and name of issue. See first post!

Moderator 1047 forum posts 434 photos 4 articles | Well, seeing that it is the first one, during which the rules were still being written up, and it is nearly Christmas, and you got the value right, and the name of the country as well, I'm giving it to you, for 3 points. It was actually a definitive stamp from the 1955-58 set. Well done! And do come back tomorrow for our next 'Guess the Stamp'. |

Moderator 1047 forum posts 434 photos 4 articles | Here we are: the next 'Guess the Stamp': Ideally, I'd like: country of issue, year of issue and name of issue (or 'definitive' if it's a definitive). One bonus point if you get the value right as well. Good luck! |
